Step 1: Create Breakouts

Now, you are logged in into the SyncSwitch, first thing we will do is add breakouts means destinations name and code. Because Breakouts are prerequisite for all operations and configurations of SyncSwitch. Here, breakouts are added according to your business requirement. If you have business in many telephony destinations, you can add as many breakouts as you want. For now for the sake of testing, please add the breakout where you have working termination. You can do that by following steps:

  • Go to Menu >> Breakouts >> Add (click on ‘+’ sign from bottom right corner)
  • Put destination code at ‘Breakout’ and destination name at ‘Name’ field.
  • Press ‘SUBMIT’ Button.

For Example, we are adding Bangladesh Mobile as a breakout here.

Step 2: Gateways Configuration

This is time to setup an active or working supplier/provider/terminator/gateway. We will do these in the following steps:

Add Gateway

  • Go to Menu >> Gateways >> Add (click on ‘+’ sign from bottom right corner)
  • Fill up the form with appropriate data in specified fields.
SyncSwitch 5
  • Name: Identical name of the supplier/provider/terminator/gateway by which you can exactly recognize. You can provide any name here. Avoid special characters i.e. *, #, $, :, @, “” etc.
  • Username: It is useful for username/password authenticated gateways. For now leave it blank.
  • Password: It is useful for username/password authenticated gateways. For now leave it blank.
  • Concurrency: Maximum number of concurrent calls the gateway can handle, this is equivalent to the number of active channels/ports your gateway does have. Set the correct number.
  • Host: This is the hostname or IP Address of your Gateway. Collect this from the provider/supplier/terminator and place it here.
  • Port: It is 5060 by default. If you have received any port changing instruction form your provider, place that port number here.
  • Codecs: You will see available supported Codecs list here. Please select which codecs traffic you want to send to your Gateway.
  • NonProxy: If you wish to send Session/Open-RTP calls/traffic to your gateways then please select ‘Yes’, otherwise select ‘No’.
  • Rtp symmetric: Set it ‘Yes’ for now.
  • Status: Set it enabled, if disabled, it will not work.

After filling up the form, click ‘SUBMIT’ Button.

Step 3: Route Plans Configuration

  • Add prefix: This is the opposite of Remove prefix. If you put 333 on the box as add prefix, it will add 333 with the called number and send to the Gateway.
  • Gateway: Select your desired gateway from dropdown for your selected breakout of this route plan.
  • Call limit: Put the number of highest concurrency you wish to send to your selected gateway with selected breakout.
  • Priority: Put the priority number of your selected gateway for your selected breakout.

After filling up the form, click ‘SUBMIT’ Button. We are done with Route Plan configuration.

  • Password: It is useful for username/password authenticated or registration mode customers. For now leave it blank.
  • Concurrency: Maximum number of concurrent calls the customer is allowed to send. Set the correct number.

  • RTP symmectric: Set it ‘Yes’ for now.
  • Status: Set it enabled, if disabled, it will not work

After filling up the form, click ‘SUBMIT’ Button.

Step 5: Test A Call

Now, we are done with SyncSwitch initial configuration to make a successful test call. Remember, success of the test call greatly depends on the availability of your termination gateway. If that is not active or you are not properly authenticated, your calls will not be successful.

Now, please inform your customer about your SyncSwitch IP, Port, Breakout etc. to send calls/traffic for testing.

  • You can monitor live calls from Menu >> Monitoring Tools >> LIVE CALLS
